FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
It is an independent and non-partisan cultural initiative promoted by the Cattedra della Pace di Assisi. It studies, documents and monitors minorities in Italy.
Its work concerns national, linguistic, ethnic and religious minorities, considered through rights, territories, public policy and social change.
The Observatory prioritises legislation, judgments, official records, institutional data and authoritative reports, supported by academic research and contextualised personal accounts.
Organisational membership is intended for people and organisations based, resident or professionally active in Italy. Rights-holders living abroad may take part in consultations or propose testimony and research cooperation when it directly concerns minorities in Italy; residence abroad alone is not a reason to exclude them from being heard.
Submissions are reviewed for relevance, verifiability and public value. Monitoring concerns institutions, policies and rights, not individual profiling.
